MARLENE R. DUFFEY

MARLENE R. DUFFEY, 84, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Adams Heritage in Mon -roeville, Ind. She was born on Feb. 12, 1938 in Decatur, Ind. to the late William Edward and Milda (Scheumann) Bultemeyer. Marlene was united in marriage to Richard Allen Duffey on April 20, 1963 at St. John Lutheran Church Bingen. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2013. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church Bingen. Marlene was previously employed at Lincoln Life Insurance and retired from Goeglein's Catering. She had a joy for children and this was evidenced by babysitting numerous children throughout her life. Marlene loved sewing and quilting with the Ladies Aid at the church. She loved talking about her large family along with the memories it brought. A social butterfly, she was allowed to spread her wings at Goeglein's where she enjoyed the opportunity to socialize with many. Marlene is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Art) Norton of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brothers, Richard Bultemeyer of Fort Wayne, James (Cheryl) Bultemeyer of Decatur, Ind., Fritz (LouAnn) Bultemeyer of Decatur, Stan Bultemeyer of Decatur, Jerry Bultemeyer of Decatur; sisters, Rosie (Waldo) Bultemeier of Decatur, Connie Hawkins of Decatur; two brothers-in-law, Paul Miller of Decatur and Denny Stoppenhagen of Hoagland, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Bultemeyer of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Bonnie Bultemeyer of Decatur; granddaughter, Nicole Norton (fianc‚ Jesus Tovar) of Lake Mary, Fla.; and numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. She was also preceded in death by one son, Allen Duffey, on Jan. 12, 2013; three brothers, Steven Bultemeyer, Roland Bultemeyer and Edward Bultemeyer; two sisters, Eileen Miller and Kay Stoppenhagen. A funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen, 11555 US-27, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Peter Brock officiating. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2022, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church - Bingen, Tanzania Mission; Wyneken Lutheran School or Worship Anew. Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ind.
