To Gail and family, Mrs Scher, Barbara and other family members... Words cannot express the sorrow and dismay that followed upon hearing about Mike and then reflecting on how badly he would be missed by all who knew him. Even though at least 16 years have gone by since our last conversation, I'm sure Mike had had a positive impact on many people. Who could ever forget how young, fun loving Mike became the head of the family when his father passed at an early age? I worked with Mike during his Erie-Lackawanna/ConRail years and have good memories of a great and friendly guy who was well liked, a person you could always speak well of. Mike was kind, treated people with respect and loved his family dearly. Athough I was not able to be with you please know that each of you are in my daily thoughts and prayers. With Love, Dan Phenicie

Gail,
I didn't know Mike at all but I knew you. As much as a high school friend can care, now that it's almost forty years after graduation, that's how much I care.
I imagine you in a marriage that was loving and honest. That's the kind of friend you were. I imagine you feeling a deep loss.
If it's any comfort to you, please know that I'll be thinking about you these next few days and weeks.
With love,
Susie

Dear Gail,
Joe and I are thinking about you and yours. I wish I could have spent a few more minutes with you but the line was long. You are all in our prayers. I am so happy to hear your son will be staying with you. I know it will be most helpful. I am sending you a beautiful poem in your card. I don't remember where I got it or who the author is but I hope you find it comforting. I am glad you were blessed with such great children who will be there to support you at this time. Take care. I knew Mike from many years of morning workouts at Gold's Gym. He was such a kind man who would always say hello and ask me about my mother, who has a heart condition. He will be greatly missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Stephanie Waldron

Dear Gail,
Wish I could be with you, your family and extended family at this time but know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Mike was a wonderful guy, loved by all and he sure knew how to give a
"bear"hug. The days ahead won't be easy but with support from family and friends and God's love
you'll make it through.
Love and peace, Marianne

Dear Gail and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We know he put up a brave fight for a long time and now is resting in peace. We hope that your wonderful family memories of all the good times will help you get through this difficult time. I always had a lot of fun with Mike. I was telling Mom and Dad yesterday that I remember one time when Mike had business in Chicago and I took the train downtown and met him for lunch. He always made me feel so special and grown up. Even though we had not seen each other for many years, just knowing that he is no longer here makes me sad. Please know that all of us are thinking of you!
Love, Becky and family

I am filled with sad emotions upon hearing of the passing of Mike Nix. Mike and I worked together at the Fort Wayne Komet Hockey Club in the 1980's and I had the opportunity and honor to help Mike as he embarked on a most successful sales career after spending years with the railroad.
I extend my sympathy to Gail and the family.
Please know that you are in my prayers.
