MICHAEL REBER Obituary

MICHAEL E. REBER, 64, of Huntington, died on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, of a heart attack. Born in Huntington on the family farm of six generations, he graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology in 1972 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked in the Design Center of Navistar International for 33 years and retired in 2000 as Chief Engineer of Body Design Group. Since retirement, he farmed the family farm, restored antique tractors, and traveled extensively. He was a member of Warren Antique Tractor Club and enjoyed tractor pulling. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley; son, David (Christina) Reber of Fort Wayne; two grandsons, James and Nicholas Marshall; sister, Rita (Cliff) Hotchkiss of Phoenix, Ariz.; and his nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Preferred memorials to the American Heart Association.

I have so many fond memories of Mike from my early days at Navistar. To this day, his name often comes up when I talk about "When I worked in Body..."

Dear Shirley,
