Nancy Hartmann Obituary

Nancy Carol Taylor Becker Hartmann, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on December 26, 2024, Born July 4, 1934, in Columbia City, Indiana. She was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Widup) Boggs. She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1952. She continued on to Comptometry school. On July 25, 1954, she married William Taylor. They loved to go camping and fishing, which they continued the tradition once their children were born. Family reunions were a large part of their lives. Everyone loved to come to Nancy and Bill's house to get together. As a family, they lived in Leo, Indiana; Chelsea, Michigan; and Lambertville, Michigan; then Kendalville, Indiana. Following Bill's passing on January 31, 1973, Nancy married Carl Becker on January 26, 1976. Nancy and Carl also loved to travel, camp and fish together. At this time in Nancy's life, the grandchildren started to come along. They loved spending time with them. Following Carl's death on October 1, 1987, Nancy married Norman Hartmann on March 21, 1998, and she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be with Norm. Nancy and Norm also loved to travel, watching and being in nature and interacting with the grandchildren. They attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she assisted with funeral dinners, and loved greeting members on Sunday mornings. Nancy and Norm also volunteered at Cross Border Partners for many years. Unfortunately Norm passed away May 12, 2017. Nancy was an avid cook, baker, knitter and was great at back scratches. She enjoyed her exercise class at the YMCA and the wonderful people there, as well as volunteering at Cross Borders. She loved to watch the birds that visited her feeder and visiting her neighbors at the Yellow Apartments. Her family was her greatest joy. She loved spending time with them and cheering them on in life's adventures. Nancy is survived by her children, Charlie (Cheryl) Taylor, Kim (Chuck) Robinson, Tom (Diana) Taylor, Joe (Nancy) Taylor, and Tonya (Jeff) Williams; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jean O'Keefe; sisters-in-law, Bridget Boggs, and Lynn Elder; brother-in-law, Philip (Betty) Taylor; sister-in-law, Arlene (Roger) Fuelling; sister-in-law, Betty Becker; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Martha Hicks, Jane Trimmer, Jim Boggs, Margaret Stillpass, Dick Boggs, John Boggs, and Frank Boggs.
