NORBERT BOBAY Obituary

NORBERT L. BOBAY, 88, died Monday, March 7, 2016, in San Jose, Calif. Born Oct. 8, 1927, he was a son of Sylvester J. Bobay and Louise (Arlew) Horman. He attended Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and School in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Central High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army with the occupation forces in Japan and was honorably discharged. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Blair on June 11, 1949. He worked at United Air Lines in Fort Wayne until transferring to San Francisco International Airport in the Bay area, until his retirement when he relocated to Arizona. He is survived by two sons, Steven (Susan) and Daniel (Janice); and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, Kyle, Joshua, Bridget Bobay, and Brian Watson; a brother, Vic Bobay; and a sister, Vera Springer, of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; infant son, David; and second wife, Jeannie. Graveside service is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Prairie Grove Cemetery on Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. The Reverend Peter Cage officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor's choice or Stanford University. In the memo line note: "Stanford University VA Alzheimer's Research Center." In the letter include the statement "This gift is in memory of Norbert L Bobay." Please notify [email protected] of your gift.
