Pearl J. Gunsenhouser, 95, of Ft. Wayne, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born on December 17, 1929 in Ashley, IN to the late Otto R. & Anna M. (Hasselman) Lehman. She was baptized and confirmed in the historic Zion Lutheran Church in Corunna, IN. She lived in Hudson, IN for 13 years then the family moved to Ft. Wayne, IN where she graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School with the class of 1947. She then attended Indiana University when it was located downtown and only offered 2 years toward a teaching degree. After marriage and 3 kids, she was able to get her BS and MS degrees from the newly built Indiana University and hired by Ft. Wayne Community Schools to teach at Forest Park School where she loved teaching the kids. She loved helping others, sharing her Christian faith, all kinds of art, basketball, hiking to Indian ruins in Arizona, and drawing cartoon figures on her kid's papers. She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and then transferred to Concordia Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne, IN. She leaves for a time her beloved children, Joy (Robert) Maassel, Cindy (Eldon) Gerken, Mark Gunsenhouser; amazing grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel) Gerken, Alan (Theresa) Gerken, Daniel Maassel, Matthew (Megan) Maassel, Jacqueline (Richard Jr.) Delgado, Michelle White; astonishing great grandchildren, Hailey, Richard III, Ivan, Otto, Benjamin, Lucy, William, Joseph, Callan and many special nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph P. Gunsenhouser; sisters, Virginia Leins, Geri Stonebraker; brothers, Ora Lehman and Martin Lehman. "I KNOW MY REDEEMER LIVES!" Friends & Family may gather on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 10-11 am at Concordia Lutheran Church (4245 Lake Avenue Ft. Wayne, IN). A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 am with Pastor Joe Reineke officiating. Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church, Parkview Home Health & Hospice or Gethsemane Lutheran Church for Holland Elementary School which they support.
