PEGGY BELL Obituary

PEGGY BELL, 76, of Fort Wayne, died Christmas Eve Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at home in hospice care. Peggy was born Feb. 28, 1944 in Buffalo, N.Y. In late 1983, Peggy came to Fort Wayne with her husband from St. Joe, Mo. She worked for Red Cross, IBM and Turnstone, retiring in 2006. When Peggy moved to Fort Wayne, she got involved with the arthritis foundation, like she was in Missouri and got others involved to work on the telethons. Peggy started at Turnstone as a receptionist and finished her career as director of volunteers and fundraising events which included Casino events and the Galas. During that time, she was also on the Mayors and Governors counsel for the disabled, and through those events, Peggy was able to inspire many lives coping with disabilities. She is survived by her husband, Art of Fort Wayne; brothers, Jim (Karen) Bell of Washington and Scott (Isabelle) Low of California; six nephews and nieces. Peggy will be cremated and interned at the National Cemetery in Marion, Ind. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held in the spring 2021 by invitation only. For those who wish to ensure they are on the invitation list, please text address and name to Jennifer (260)602-4048, as soon as possible, as the family will be making the necessary arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Turnstone, SCAN or charity of donor's choice. Envelopes will be available during the celebration of life. Arrangements by Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main St., Auburn. To sign the online guestbook, or to leave a message of condolence, visit www.pinningtonfh.com
