PHYLLIS D. EASTLUND

1945 - 2022

PHYLLIS D. EASTLUND, passed into Jesus' embrace on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022. Born June 20, 1945, she was a daughter of Berl and Eunice Brower. She attended school at Laketon and then graduated from Manchester High School in North Manchester, Ind., in 1963. She was united in marriage to Marvin E. Eastlund on June 4, 1966. Phyllis enjoyed walking, gardening, and visiting her children and grandchildren whenever possible. She especially enjoyed a circle of close friends who called themselves, "The Babes." These sisters became soul mates of each other and their bonds of friendship were cemented by deep love for one another. Phyllis was also very committed to Jesus Christ and spent much of her reading time in God's Word. In 2012, the first symptoms of a neurological degenerative disease began to occur. This disease was incurable and there was no know treatment. She approached this diagnosis with a solid faith and committed to walk this path with Jesus and to give Him all the glory. She fought the good fight and finished strong as she won victory over the disease that was robbing her of every ability to live her life. She now is in the presence of the Lord for all eternity and is free of all that trouble that tried to take her down. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Eastlund; daughters, Shelly (Robert) Brown, Kimberly (Kevin) Kaboos and Darcy (Rodney) Clawson; son, John (Tammy) Eastlund; sister, Connie (Howard) White; and brothers, Ted (Delinda) Brower and Kent (Gwen) Brower. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E. Dearborn St., Englewood (FL 34223), with a reception following the service. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, where visitation with family is from 9 to 10 a.m. and a reception will follow the service. Burial will be at Roann Cemetery, Roann, Ind.
