Mr. Altenburg was my sixth grade teacher at Anthony Wayne School, 1961-62.
He was a caring teacher and had a great sense of humor.

I will always remember Rex with great fondness. He spent hours attending my Bridge Classes and became an accomplished player. Other members in our Fort Wayne Bridge Club requested him as a partner. A really swell guy and respected by many.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a favorite teacher of mine at Anthony Wayne. It was great seeing him in 2021 when he came to our 50th reunion for Elmhurst. He definitely was a very special teacher.

He was my fifth grade teacher. He taught me how to multiply. He made us bounce a basketball in front of the whole class and count by every number until we didn´t miss a dribble! He was my first male teacher. I never have and never will forget him. May God bless his family.

May God´s Holy Angels speed him into Paradise and May his loving family find comfort and peace in trusting that God is his caretaker. What an awesome friend, neighbor, teacher, co-worker, and Christian man he was!
