Gretchen

I recall meeting you 3-5 times at the 1949 SSHS reunions--as well as the gathering last year at the FWCC. Dick was always a true inspiration for high ideals and community involvement to all of our classmates, not only 'in' school, but even throughout our adult years. It is most difficult to lost one's life mate ( as is happening with me right now--slowly )--thus my heart sincerely has a special place and thought for you and your family at this time of bereavment. Dick has been everyone's friend and a fine Man.

Gretchen, Our daughter, Carol Howenstine, has e.mailed us about Dick's passing. We are so very sorry.

I have so many fond memories of our growing up years...birthday parties and family gatherings. I especially think of a trip to Gatlinberg {about 1945}with his family and ours during spring vacation. His dad painted a picture of Cade's Cove Mill while we picnicked there. It hangs on our wall now and I often think about the fun times.

Do Know that we pray for God's comfort for you in the days to come.

Fondly, Madie and Charlie Rinek
