I only met Mr. Byrd a few times, but each one was memorable. He was just a really nice guy. He proudly leaves behind a loving and strong family. They are a wonderful legacy of which he was proud. Mr. Byrd was a friend to everyone, he could talk to anyone and make them feel like they were important to him. He will surely be missed. My sympathies to the family and everyone who will miss him.

My heartfelt sympathies to Richard's family. He was my friend for many years, his generosity and selflessness helped my family stay together during hard times, he helped, with no thought for himself, he helped, with no reward, he helped. I will never forget him. He is one person who, I believe, anyone who was lucky enough to know him benefited from it. To me, Richard was one in a million, the wold is less without him.
He will be sorely missed.

Oh how I miss you. You were the best daddy anyone could ever have even imagined having. There is now a spot missing in my heart without you here. I know that you are finally in peace and no longer suffering, but I still miss you. I will always love you, never forget you, and will meet you again when the good Lord decides it's my time. I'll tell your grandchildren all about the great man and good times we had. Love you, your Baby Girl Elizabeth Zepeda (Betsy)
