Robert Cowan Obituary

ROBERT G. COWAN, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at Heritage Park Healthcare Center. Born Jan. 2, 1923, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late George and Florence (Bowser) Cowan. He retired in 1985 as Personnel Director of Fort Wayne Community Schools, with over 30 years of service. He served in the Army Air Corps, was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Lions Club. Surviving are his wife, Mary Anne (Florence) Cowan of Fort Wayne; son, William G. Cowan of Bloomington; daughter, Cathy A. Cowan of Catonsville, Md.; and brother, Norbert Cowan of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Cowan; and sister, Ardenell Morrison. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, with calling one hour prior, at Grace Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Lee Dorsey is officiating. Calling is also from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Wayne Street Chapel Funeral Home, 420 W. Wayne Street. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Wildcat Baseball League.

I was sad to learn of Bob's recent passing. You have our deepest sympathy.



Bob was a mentor to me as I traveled through the ranks of the FWCS - his advise and guidance was important to my career, and I will always be indebted to him. He was special to me.
