ROBERT LAVERNE "BOB" CROSS, 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, after a long illness. Born in Pennsylvania, he moved to Rockford, Ill., at a very early age. He remained there until he moved to Fort Wayne in 1955 to marry Patricia Burns. Bob enjoyed a long career at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company and was Second Vice President Reinsurance Underwriting at his retirement. Bob and Pat also lived part time in Scottsdale, Ariz., until Pat's passing in 2014. Besides being a proud and loving father, Bob was very involved in Trinity Episcopal Church for over 40 years. Bob was very proud being past master Highland Lodge 762 F&AM and a member of the Mizpah Shrine. "His service in the Naval Reserve was something he and all of us were proud of." Bob and Pat were together for 63 loving years and are finally reunited. They are survived by six children, Robert, Thomas, Steven, James, David, and Laura. They also leave 13 grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Wayne, with calling from noon to 1 p.m. Graveside at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Lindenwood Cemetery. The family requests any donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children
