RONALD W. LEIGH, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018. Born in Aurora, Ill. on July 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Stanley and Dorothy (Patter man) Leigh. Ronald was ordained to the Gospel Ministry, and later obtained a PhD from New York University in Religious Education. He taught for many years at Christian Bible Colleges and also taught at Ivy Tech College for 26 years in the Design Technology Department, retiring in 2011. Ronald's passion was Bible study, research, writing, and teaching. He went on to teach himself AutoCAD (Automated Computer Aided Design) and published one of the first AutoCAD textbooks which was widely used in colleges when the technology was first developing. Traveling, playing tennis, being outdoors, hiking, and playing a variety of instruments were a few of Ronald's hobbies. More than anything Ronald loved his Lord, and his family. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Karen (Bolden) Leigh; daughters, Brenda (Daniel) Hoover and Sheryl (George) Snyder; grandsons, Benjamin, Brock, Isaac, and Mitchell Hoover, and Eric Snyder; brother, David S. Leigh of St. Paul, Minn. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at Wallen Baptist Church, 1001 W. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46825) with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at the church. Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wallen Baptist Church or Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fort Wayne.
