ROSELLA STECH Obituary

ROSELLA M. STECH, was called to her heavenly home after a brief illness on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. Born April 26, 1928 in Fort Wayne, she became a child of God through baptism at the age of 18, and was one of the charter members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She served in many capacities there through the years - The first Stephen's Ministers class, Helping Hands, and Worship for Shut-Ins Ministries. She was a Parkview volunteer prior to working 23 years for Ears Nose & Throat, retiring at age 78, and was an active member of the Curios Antique Club for over 40 years. She loved traveling with friends, antiquing, and caring for her garden flowers. She is survived by sons, Tom (Monica) Stech of Ogden, Utah, and Gary Stech of Elkhart, Ind.; daughters, Sheila (Paul) Cruz and Elaine (John) Weikart of Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Klare Stech of Spencerville, Ind.; grandchildren, Justin and Matthew Stech, Larisa Buchanan, Tim Cruz, Andrew and Luke Weikart; great-grandchildren, Kellan Stech, Sicily and Sydney Buchanan; sisters, Mary Lou Freeman of Longbranch, N.J. and Sally Moulin of Fort Wayne; brother, William Wilson of Fort Wayne; and special cousin, Carolyn (Vic) Bobay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Stech, in 1976; and son, Joseph, in 2014; brothers, Carl, Melvin and James Wilson; and sister, Dorothy Balser. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave., with calling from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Pastor Mark A. Neubacher officiating. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Worship For Shut-Ins. A special thanks to Parkview Hospital and Hospice Care for her excellent care. Arrangements by D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne.
