ROY "KNAPPY" W. KNAPP, 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, in Auburn. Born in Allen County, he was a retired farmer who owned a hardware store in Albion and also worked at Eckrich and Stanadyne. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Avilla, John Chapman Kiwanis, and Summit City Barbershop Chorus. He enjoyed performing as "Happy Knappy the Klown". Surviving are his wife, Jo-Anne Knapp of Auburn; sons, Scott Knapp of Auburn and Allen (Traci) Knapp of Syracuse, Ind.; daughter, Lorene (Jim) Sprague of Albion; stepson, John (Lorrie) Pontius of Auburn; stepdaughter, Jodi (Booy) Strock of Butler, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, James (Connie) Myers of Indianapolis; and sister, Florella (Sam) Genco of Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rollen Knapp. Service is 2 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. Rev. Thomas Dunbar officiating. Calling from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, or Fort Wayne National Alliance for the Mentally, Ill.
