RUSSELL SKINNER Obituary
RUSSELL E. SKINNER, 104, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015. Born on a farm in Payne, Ohio, he was the youngest of nine children. He saw the world transform from the horse and buggy era to what it is today. His working career was in the grocery business and at one point he owned his own grocery store, Russell's Market at the corner of Calhoun and Williams. In retirement, he returned to help on the family farm. He also enjoyed playing many rounds of golf. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Janet) Skinner, Janet (Bob) McClintock and Joellen (Gary) Fawley, all of Fort Wayne; son, Jim (Amy) Skinner of Gilbert, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 12 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Delaney Skinner; two daughters, Judy and Joan Skinner; and a grandson, Jake Skinner. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.. Visitation also from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission or St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.

Dear Janet and family,
My sympathy to you and your family. Your dad was a good man...always very kind to my family. I remember being at Little Cedar Lake with your family and your dad was teaching me how to fish with a bamboo pole!! Many fond memories of your dad...RIP.
