Ruth Wiegman Obituary

Ruth Ann (Pifer) Wiegman, passed into the arms of the Lord on November 14, 2025, she was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on April 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Pastor William L. and Elizabeth (Wheadon) Pifer. She graduated from South Side High School and then from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She spent most of her nursing career at Lutheran Hospital on Fairfield Avenue. Ruth Ann married David P. Wiegman in 1961, and they had four children. As the daughter of a Pastor, Ruth Ann sought to serve her Lord throughout her life and was a long-time member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. One of her favorite ministries was building and serving At the Table community free meal program at Gethsemane. Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, David; children, Catherine (Patrick) Overmyer, Betsy Wiegman, John (Cheri) Wiegman and Rebecca (Bryan) Parman; grandchildren, Samantha (Steven) Vrchota, Jacob Alberding, Jack and Alex Wiegman, Claire Taranta; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1505 Bethany Lane, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Ruth Ann requested that any donations made in her memory go to At The Table, c/o Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Condolences can be left online at www.klaehnfahlmeltonfunerals.com.
