THOMAS KLAPHEKE Obituary

THOMAS G. KLAPHEKE, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at his home in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was born in Louisville, Ky. He served honorably from 1953 to 1955 in the United States Navy, during the Korean War, and worked as an engineer for Magnavox for 33 years. After retirement, Tom volunteered at several organizations, including the American Red Cross. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Northeast Indiana Chiselers & Turners (NEICT). He was an avid woodworker and Amateur radio enthusiast (K4CKQ). Surviving are his children, Jeffrey G. Klapheke; wife Joyce, Michael S. Klapheke, wife, Susan; and Mark T. Klapheke; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, Rachelle, and Catherine; and siblings, Mary Howard, Richard Klapheke, Marty Klapheke, Karen Klapheke, and Trudy Howard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Mayo) Klapheke; parents, Rudolph W. and Gertrude (Moyer) Klapheke; and siblings, Patricia Meffert, Rudy Klapheke Jr., and James Klapheke. To join the service virtually at 10 a.m. EST Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, visit the funeral home's Facebook page (D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park). He will be interred at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Mission, P.O. Box 39, Tohatchi (NM 87325), or Community Harvest www.communityharvest.org.
