VERA BURNETT Obituary

VERA R. BURNETT, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 12:50 p.m., at Grey Stone Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born Oct. 20, 1931, in Decatur, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Otto A. Miller and Rose J. (Spangler) Miller. She married Jerry M. Burnett on Aug. 26, 1950, in Decatur; he preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1995. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and the Rosary Society at the church. Vera was a graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at JCPenney at Southtown and Meijer on Stellhorn. She enjoyed gardening, rug making, spray painting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughters, Susan K. (Klaus) Rode, Lea (Leland) Metheny and Jill M. Burnett, all of Fort Wayne; siste, Sister Rose Andrea Miller of Fond Du Lac, Wis.; five grandchildren, Bridgitte Godwin, Barbara Bubp, Aaron Rode, Leland Metheny III, and Kaylen Brueggeman, and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, James and John Miller; and a sister, Ann Hennish. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville. Father Lourdino Fernandes officiating. Visitation is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. Burial in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
