WALTER A. STRONCZEK, 70, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at home. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and an Air Force veteran. Surviving are his son, CPT Nick Stronczek stationed in Wahiawa Hawaii; daughter, Katherine Hopp of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Bianca and Ben Stronczek and Joplyn Hopp; sisters, Fran Bowsman of Fort Wayne and Rose Rodocker of Huntertown; brothers, Leo, Steve and Victor, all of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary (Wisniewski) Stronczek; and brother, Stanley. Memorial service is 12:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with calling from noon to 12:45 p.m. Service followed by Interment in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to the grandchildren's scholarship fund. Cremation services by Tom Mungovan Funeral Home.

Uncle Wally was a very talented handyman with a big heart for helping and serving others. His handywork will always be remembered at our house as he completely transformed our bonus room above our garage into a functional and family-friendly apartment with kitchenette and bathroom for our boys to share time with their friends as they grow up. We will treasure the "hidden" small pencil marks on the stairway where he marked the times he went up and down the steps, many, many times. You will be missed by myself and Doug, who was especially fond of him and his work but more importantly his personality. May your soul rest in peace in heaven.
