Wayne Linder

1942 - 2024

Wayne Linder, 81, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away in his home after a short-term acute illness, surrounded by his wife, Jacque, and two sons, Shannon and Shawn, on June 7, 2024, He was born in Portland, Indiana on December 12, 1942 and attended the Portland school system and Earlham College, majoring in finance and business, which later became a career in banking. Wayne enjoyed working on his yard and flower garden - especially his beautiful red roses. He and Jacque met in Muncie (IN) in 1966 and were married on June 29, 1968. Wayne was a loving, caring, giving, dependable, proud husband and father.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jacque; his sons, Shannon and Shawn; sister, Pattie Teele; daughter-in-law, Kimberly; grandchildren; Megan, Jason, Seth, Madison, Sawyer-James, Kameron; great-grandchildren, Allana and Cameron; and many other cherished friends and family members.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur; mother, Geraldine; and his brother, Will.

Visitations will be held at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. There will be no service, but there will be a life celebration with public visitations on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 7pm to 8:30pm and Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 5pm to 6pm, with family gathering from 6pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, Wayne would be greatly honored in donations to the American Foundation for the Blind (afb.org) in honor of his beloved blind grandfather.
