Earl Palmer

SANBORNVILLE - Earl "Bill" Palmer, 82, formerly of Whispering Wind Lane, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his son's home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born November 14, 1931, in Rochester, N.H. He lived there throughout his entire life. He was the son of the late Osmer and Gladys (Eldridge) Palmer.

Bill was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1949. He worked as a milk man for most of his life starting out with Scruton's Dairy Farm. Bill was an active member of the Elks Lodge for 46 years where held many positions during his lifetime membership.

The surviving members of Bill's family include his daughter Robin Morrison and her husband Harold of Hope Mills, NC; his son David Palmer and his wife Pamela of Sanbornville, NH; his daughter Sonya Davis and her husband Christopher of Sedona, AZ; his daughter Carol Cologie and her husband Robert of North Pole, AK; and his son Deane Palmer and his wife Tammy of Northfield, NH; the mother of his children and first wife Elizabeth Palmer of Rochester, NH. Bill will also be greatly missed by his sixteen grandchildren. Robin and Harold Sr.'s children: Harold Jr. and his wife Heather, Rachel and her husband Marc, Caleb and his wife Ashley, Sarah and her husband Matthew, Joshua and his wife Janelle, Rebekah and her husband Daniel, Daniel, Hannah, Isaac, and Elijah. David and Pamela's children: Brian Paquette, Christopher Palmer and his wife Michelina, and Kaitlyn Palmer-Holmes and her husband Samuel. Deane and Tammy's children: Calista, Tylor, Coree, and Dylan. Bill is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren. Bill is predeceased by his wife, Sandra (Boston) Palmer, his brother George Stevens, and his sister Phyllis Dorr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elks National Foundation in memory of Earl W. Palmer for the scholarship fund. Donations may be made to Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 at PO Box 1393 Rochester NH 03866-1393 to be awarded to a graduating senior in Rochester NH.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, June 9th from 11 a.m. to 1PM memorial service to be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester, NH 03867.

Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery (on Meaderboro Road) following the service.

Earl was a half brother to my mother (Charlotte Palmer Wilson). I always enjoyed talking to him in person, on the phone, cards & letters. I always felt a connection with my mother through him and now that is gone. I will miss him. My sympathy and prayers go out to his family.
