Evelyn Tasker

STRAFFORD ; Evelyn R. Tasker, age 77, longtime resident of Strafford, died Dec. 7, 2008 at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord.

Born Nov. 14, 1931, daughter of the late Earl and Mildred (Hill) Corliss, she was a longtime resident of Prospect Hill Farm in Strafford and most recently resided at Epsom Manor.

Evelyn had a ceramic studio at the farmhouse for years, where she taught ceramic classes. For several years, she served as President of the South Barnstead Cemetery Association and the N.H. State Cemetery Association. She enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, loved feeding and watching birds and traveling across the country with her husband in their camper to all the United States, including Alaska.

Wife of the late/widow of Francis H. Tasker, who died in 1996, she is survived by two children, Michael F. Tasker of Strafford and Barbara A. Geddes of Gilmanton Iron Works; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Sargeant of Barnstead; also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School St., Alton, N.H. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Third Baptist Church, corner of Route 126 and Route 202A in Strafford, with the Rev. Harold Muzzy, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at South Barnstead Cemetery.
