Loretta Lambert Obituary

ROCHESTER — Loretta M. Lambert, 76, died March 14, 2010, after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 16, 1933, in Portsmouth, N.H., to Alfred and Rose (Mancine) Jullien. She attended St. Patrick's and Portsmouth High School. She married her husband, Dec. 12, 1959, and they had recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. She traveled with her husband and family during his career in the Coast Guard to Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Texas and New York, where they retired and came home to New Hampshire, settling in Rochester in 1978.

Loretta was an outgoing person who made many friends during her lifetime. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Next to her family, cooking was her greatest joy. There was always room for one more at the holiday table. She was the cook at Holy Rosary parish for many years. Many priests, from bishops to seminarians, were fed her delicious meals and again, always room for one more. She will be remembered by many who looked forward to her lamb dinners at the Parish Seder meals.

She is survived by her husband, Gerard (Pete) Lambert; children, Mark Williams of Rochester, Vicki Williams of Dover, Corrine Fishborne of Blackwood, N.J., and Nancy Williams of East Rochester; grandchildren, Aaron Truman and wife, Nadenne, Erica Truman, James Truman and wife, Supatra, Crystal Wyman, Richard Ghent and wife, Tiffany, and Dylan Williams; great-grandchildren, Jade, Sierra and Hunter Truman, Piper Alibis and Mercy Truman, Grant Truman, Brody and Payton Ghent, Chloe and Braiden Williams.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Andrew Jullien and sister, Elizabeth Rodgers.

The family would like to thank her doctors, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital staff, Rochester VNA nurses and caregivers for helping to keep her with them additional years. Donations can be made in her name to the Share Fund and Gerry's Pantry.

Visitation will be held at the Grondin Funeral Home, 177 N. Main St., Rochester, on Thursday, March 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March, 19 at Holy Rosary Church.

mom I always thought that I did a good job at showing you that I loved you. I always thought that I did a good job of telling you that I loved you. one thing Im not sure I did a good job of was letting you know why I loved you. I would like to tell you a few of those reasons now. to start with you were a giver. no matter who you were, if you needed something, and you had it mom, it was theirs. even if it ment that you would go without. next, I loved how friendly and out going you were. People loved to see you comming. They knew they would get a warm smile and friendly conversation from you, and if they were really lucky they would get one of your famous breads that you were so proud of. One of your best qualities I loved the most was how you were always there for your family. you never turned any of us away. you loved all of us unconditionaly, and we all put that to the test one time or another. you would stuff your cupboards full of food. We would tease you about having 10 cans of the same thing. We would ask why and you would just smile and shrug. If any of us were having a tough time with money we all knew we could go grociery shopping at mom & dads, and we have all done it once or twice. and that was why she had 10 cans of the same thing. In closing mom I loved you for your strength. You went through a lot in your life and you always bounced back. I am as strong as I am today from watching you. You never gave up and neither will I. I love you and miss you lots. yourloving daughter Nancy.

Dear Pete and Family - We were so sorry to hear of Loretta's passing. As you know it has been 3 years since Mom's passing. Now I can see them all sitting around the table having their coffee, Chris, Jack, Helen and Bill while Loretta is trying to figure out what to cook. Those are all memories I cherish. Love to all.

Dear Pete and Family:

We are so sorry for your loss. She will surely be missed by everyone who knew her. She took me under her wing at the parish house and I became family. I'll miss her cooking advice, her laugh but, most of all her kind heart. Jamie has lots of fond memories of visiting with her. She always thought of others. Please find comfort in knowing we're thinking and praying for you all.

With heartfelt sympathy;

Linda and Jamie Steinbach
