Paul Dodier Obituary

ROLLINSFORD — Paul J. Dodier, 76, of General Sullivan Way, passed away peacefully on Sept. 29, 2009 after a brief illness, at his home with his family by his side.

Paul was born on Dec. 27, 1932, to Gedeon and Azilda Dodier.

He was a graduate of Dover High School and New Hampshire Technical College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Paul retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1989 after working 30 years in architectural design.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post 47. His favorite pastime was fishing, especially trolling for salmon on Lake Winnipesaukee with his son.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gwendolyn (Ellsmore) Dodier; son, Kevin and his wife, Christine, of Rollinsford and a daughter, Michelle Lee and her husband, Todd, of Granby, Conn. He also leaves several brothers and sisters including Richard Dodier, Ernest Dodier, Phillip Dodier, Grace Gary, Fern Cullen, Paula Turgeon, Cecile Krebs and Rachel Angelopoulos and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Norman, and his sisters, Clemence, Arnette White and Alice Kilty.

For the past 17 years, Paul has experienced the pride and joy of being a grandfather. His five grandchildren were a source of great happiness and never failed to bring a smile to his face. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by Kelsie, Gabrielle and Brett Dodier of Rollinsford and Nicholas and Paige Lee of Granby, Conn.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Rollinsford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, N.H.
