Sorry about your loss. I will always remember Chief Gelinas as a wonderful, kind and thoughtful man. The town lost a great Chief when he retired from the force. He was a great boss and also introduced me to my husband 23 years ago.

Paul & Elizabeth-I was saddened to hear that the Chief passed. I grew up in that town. Elizabeth, you once babysat me, Paul you helped my dad build part of our house, and the Chief was a part of my life too. He did so much for so many. I could always count on him to be-well, everything. Any situation I was in, good or bad, he was there. He was always firm but fair with me. I think of him often, he's what a police chief should be. Please accept my condolences and I pray that your family finds peace.

Growing up in New Durham where the only recreation at times was being mischievous, I had many encounters with this man. He was always kind fair and caring.... he was the definition of civil duty and the voice of the community for over half a century.... you will be deeply mussed

I knew Paul as my mother (Edwina Dore) was their cleaning lady. When we didn't have school we would help. I remember Paul coming home for lunch those days. My mom had so much respect for him. Please know we are thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Although we never knew your father, we certainly knew of him. How many times his name came up in Selectmen's meetings! How much this town owes him! How many people speak of him with respect and affection!
He was a beacon to countless members of this community.
Hang onto that in this, the most difficult of times.
