Shock, disbelief and sadness... Were so sorry to hear of Peter K's death. I was lucky enough to be an employee at NECU for nearly 12 years, Beth over 16. During our tenures there were many changes to NECU and the growth and direction of the credit union was quite dynamic. Peter was always at the helm. Whether it be through credit committee ,in his office or through personal contact in the lobby, Peter was always accessible to me and was open to ideas and suggestions There were of course goodtimes to share, quarterly meetings, Christmas parties, summer picnics and barbecues; I even got Peter to participate in softball games I put together for the credit union. Yes the credit union is a business but it is also a family and even though I was last employed at a NECU in 2002 I still feel a strong bond to the credit union family. I am going to pull out 10 years service pin that you presented me and wear it today. Peter rest in peace, our deepest condolences to your family. Sincerely, Jim Bisognani and Beth Gerrish

Nancy and Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Peter was such a great man and mentor. I have had the privilege to have worked for Peter for the last 7 years and what a great experience that was. He taught me so much, but the most important lesson was to put family first.
He will be missed dearly.

To Nancy and family....Peter was a special man that I got to know at the credit union. He demanded a lot of his team as he did of himself. NECU was clearly his second family, caring for the members and employees. I learned so much from him. Being close in age we always share a weekend story about family, grown children and grandchildren, his true loves of his life. He was proud of his family. He will be missed. I know he is watching out for you all from above. Reach out to your NECU family if you need anything

Nancy and Family: Doreen and I were deeply saddened when we heard of Peter's accident. It was a shock none of us could be prepared for. I thank God that I had the chance to work with him for this past year. The visitation Wednesday and the funeral service Thursday clearly showed that Peter touched a lot of lives throughout his life and career. It was also clearly evident that he loved his family very much. One thing I learned from Peter this past year was that people are the most important thing to him; his family, his employees, and his credit union members. He didn't want any glory or attention for himself; it was always about others for him. I'm glad I gained that understanding from him. I hope and pray that I can do it as well as he did. May God comfort and heal you all during this time.

No matter what CU I worked at, Peter was always ready to assist. Like Peter, I had started at smaller size credit unions and we could both relate to the CEO that is the collector/teller/loan officer and everything else.

Peter has always been there. I just emailed him congratulating him on his retirement.

It is such a shock, and I can only imagine how the family is doing. I can only hope that you remember all the wonderful things he did within the community and that his legacy will indeed live on.

My thoughts are with Nancy and the family at this time. I truly hope you are all doing well and take solace in Peter's achievements not only within the Credit Union industry but also his charitable works.

Nancy & Family,
With sympathy for your loss of Peter. I will never forget my first day as a teller that I waited on Peter at the main office. He was very gracious and just smiled as he handed it to me when I asked him for his ID, since I had no idea at that time who he was. He was a very down to earth guy and he will be greatly missed by all. You and the family are in our prayers.
