Urs Wigger Obituary
Urs was working as the Technology Manager for Lindt and Sprüngli Chocolate. He was a Master Chocolatier at the company while utilizing his Swiss education as a professional baker.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening; including growing giant pumpkins, fishing, and entertaining family and friends. He was known for his strong sense of humor, no matter the circumstances. He always looked out for everyone else's good time.
Urs was survived by his family including his wife Lucia (Rossit) Wigger of Dover, N.H.; his children Andreas Wigger Steinger and wife Suzanne of Dover, N.H.; Claudia Wigger of Cambridge, Mass.; Nicole Sigrist of Sursee, Switzerland; Manuela Hartmann and husband Daniel of Beinwil am see, Switzerland; and Marco Sigrist of Eich, Switzerland; as well as four brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Brigitte (Steinger) Wigger.

Only today, Sept. 17 2019, I have learned through friends in Switzerland that Urs is no longer with us on this earth.
This is a real family tragedy. First his then wife Brigitte in 2010 and now Urs. As the saying goes, only the truly good die young.
I have known Urs for a coupled of decades as a multi-talent and as a Swiss Master Chocolatier. After he and Brigitte immigrated to the USA from Switzerland, he built his own home in New Hampshire. Even more importantly, Urs, in very short time, built the Lindt Chocolate empire in the USA. Thanks to Urs,
we can now enjoy the delicious Lindt products just about everywhere, in retail stores, in supermarkets and in sophisticated boutiques in Hollywood and in New York City
Tomorrow, Wed. Sept. 18, 2019 a Celebration of Life will be held in the local church in Emmen, near Lucerne, Switzerland at 700P local time.

I remember Urs as a Multi-Talent and as a Swiss Master Chocolatier When he and Brigitte immigrated from Switzerland, He built his own house in New Hampshire. But even more importantly, he single-handedly built up the LINDT Chocolate empire in the USA. Today, this delicious product can be found just about everywhere, in department and retail stores as well as in sophisticated boutiques in Hollywood and in New York City.
Tomorrow, Sept. 18, there will be a Celebration of Life Service at 700P in the local church in Emmen, near Lucerne, Switzerland.

I am so saddened to learn of Urs' passing. Way too young. I had known him for over 20 years in his work at Lindt and my role as a supplier for a Swiss based company. I enjoyed his straight-forward candor, his humor and honesty, and had great respect for his professional competence. He was a very good man and I'm sorry for this news.

Dear Lucia
It was with great dismay that we learned of the surprising death of Urs. We had a very friendly relationship with Urs for more than 20 years that went far beyond business issues. The cooperation has always been based on great mutual trust and respect. Urs has always been passionate and committed to his goals. He had an uncomplicated nature, even in difficult situations. We will miss Urs painfully.

Urs was a great man. He worked with my wife, but i had the privilege of getting to know him as a friend and also take part in his excitement of growing Giant Pumpkins. He will be missed greatly, but we are all better for having known him.

Urs was a shining light in the NH Giant Pumpkin Growing club. It was always fun to hear his progress and witness his enthusiasm. He will be sorely missed, the NHGPGA conveys much sorrow to his entire family. May heaven have garden space for a least one giant pumpkin plant...
