Charles Carothers Obituary
Charles M. Carothers, age 81, of Carrabelle, Florida and former owner of The Marketplace ("Blue Store") located on St. George Island, passed away peacefully with his family by his side March 9th, 2023.
Originally born September 15th, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky, he spent most of his adult years living in Cincinnati, Ohio raising his family.
Better known as "Chuck" to his family and friends, he is survived by his wife, Carol Carothers (Campbell) of 41 happy years of marriage along with his three children, daughter Sunny Stultz-Dunaway (Carothers) with her spouse Captain Joseph Dunaway, daughter, Kelly Tischer (Carothers) with her spouse, Steve Tischer, and Kevin Carothers, his son.
Chuck had six grandchildren he was overjoyed and proud of; grand-daughter, Skylar Stultz to be married October 14th, 2023 to Mitch Ford, grand-daughter Jencyn Stultz, grand-sons Sawyer Stultz and Elijah Grier, all children of Sunny and Joseph, along with Jillian Tischer, daughter of Kelly and Steve, and Dawson Carothers, son of Kevin Carothers.
Chuck has lived in Franklin County since 2002 purchasing The Marketplace on St. George where he worked through retirement and was a prominent figure in the community supporting his love of Franklin County School's Seahawks and many more local causes.
He never met a stranger and loved that island life that only St. George Island could give as far as he was concerned!
He will be missed deeply and celebrated by his family forever.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Charles. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Charles truly respected the family as outlined in the Bible and enjoyed spending time with his precious grandkids and great grandkids. May our Heavenly Father be with you and your family.

This is my favorite photo of the three of them together, because this was around the same time. I remember that my mom needed some thing extra to love. I surprised them with this little dog when he was a puppy, and he brought so much joy to their lives And still does for my mom now that dad is gone. Tango was and is their world.
