Antoinette Kicas Obituary

Mrs. Antoinette Kicas, 92, of Frederick, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at the Northampton Manor Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Peter Kicas.

Born June 10, 1914, in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Smigelski.

Mrs. Kicas was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. Crocheting was one of her most favorite things.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Twiss and husband Allen of Frederick; two grandchildren, Douglas R. Van Deventer and Steven R. Van Deventer and wife Christina of New Market; two great-grandchildren, Owen Thomas Van Deventer and Hannah Christina Van Deventer; two nephews, Peter Eonaitis and wife Beatrice and Michael Smigelski and wife Ann Marie; and three nieces, Patricia Kochera and husband John, Eileen Uken and husband Dan and Anne Standley and husband John, all of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas P. Kicas; her brother, Albert Smigelski; and sister, Anastasia Eonaitis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, Friday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. with Father Andy Aaron as celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with Deacon Michael Smigelski officiating.
