Beulah Bishop-Johnson Obituary

Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, Beulah Bishop-Johnson of Ashton, MD died at Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness. Born September 28, 1941, in Marion, VA she was the daughter of the late Paul Edward and Nannie Virginia Doane Crusenberry.

Mrs. Bishop-Johnson was Activities Specialist at Friends Nursing Home. She was a graduate of Marion High School, Marion, Va. She was a life member of the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a fifty plus years member of the Spencerville Free Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bishop-Johnson is survived by her husband, George D. Johnson; four children, Robert E. Bishop and his wife, Ann Shrader of Taylorsville, Beverly A. Magruder and her husband, Daniel of Middletown, Anthony W. Bishop and his wife, Charlene of Mt. Airy, and David M. Bishop and his wife, Sherry of Hagerstown. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Canada of New Market and Betsy Myers of Gaithersburg, and brother, Don Crusenberry of Stockton, CA. Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gaynes E. Bishop and a brother, Paul J. Crusenberry.

Besides the Ladies Auxiliary, Mrs. Bishop-Johnson enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

Friends paid respects on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, Md. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Spencerville Free Methodist Church, 2024 Spencerville Road, Spencerville, MD 20868. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Burtonsville.
