Carlton Perin Obituary
Carl was born Aug. 14, 1919, in Eastport. He had been in the transportation field for many years. He had driven a trolley car, transit bus and, for many years, a tractor-trailer for Wilhelm Energy. Carl had owned and operated his plant business, known as Perin Plants, for almost 40 years. He always had a "green thumb" and often gave his customers tips on growing flowers and vegetables. Carl served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing and most especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra A. and James Dertzbaugh of Woodsboro; sons, Carlton Perin Jr. of Texas, Robert Perin of New York and Gerald Perin; and grandchildren, Kelsey and Jay Dertzbaugh and Casey, Adam, Ashley and Harrison Perin.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, who raised him, Berhle Adelaide Porter.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
