Charlotte Ann Frost Cornelius*
* A woman of great talents, who humbly shared those with many.*
Charlotte's life served as an example of how to experience many things
with confidence, grace and kindness. In this respect, she successfully
raised 4 children and navigated 30 moves to 11 states and overseas to
Jakarta Indonesia. She would say that she possessed this ability due to her
parents; Charles Frost and Edna Jones Frost, and their unwavering faith and
love in her. She was blessed to be raised this way and they knew they were
blessed to have her as a daughter. Charlotte was born in Colorado Springs,
CO on March 6, 1932. The Depression meant seeking employment wherever
possible. The Frosts moved to
Rockville, MD for jobs in the expanding
Washington DC area. Montgomery County was a small community in the early
1940's. Charlotte met Johnny (later John) Cornelius through mutual friends
while still in high school. They retained close friends while pursuing
their own interests. Charlotte traveled to UCLA to pursue an art degree
while living with her mother's sister in southern CA. Her beloved Father
suffered a heart attack in the early 1950's so she returned to MD to be
with him while he recovered. She got a job at the Army Map Service as a
Cartographer. A successful working woman, she bought herself a fur coat and
a car.
Love and a future with Lt. John Cornelius was inevitable. He asked her to
join him while he pursued pilot training in 1954. She agreed. Daughter
Caren Frost was born in 1955, followed by Kathy Joe in 1957, Suzanne in
1959 and John Tate jr. in 1965. A career as a full time Air Force spouse
followed. Settling children in a variety of schools, buying and improving
houses for profit and pursuing personal interests occupied Charlotte's
time. She was a pleasant, yet strong woman who never lost herself in the
challenges of life.
On February 22, 2026 the challenges of life overcame Charlotte. She passed
away in
Corpus Christi, TX with her loving husband, John and their children
present. Charlotte leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the
