Chester Haynes Obituary

Mr. Chester Lane "Chuck" Haynes, 60, of 203 N. Carroll St., Thurmont, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

He was the husband of Barbara G. Stackhouse Haynes, whom he married Nov. 10, 1982.

Born Jan. 10, 1941, in Sandyville, W.Va., he was a son of the late Clyde F. and Posey Haynes.

Mr. Haynes was employed at Lakewood Country Club, North Potomac. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Sportsman Association, and was an avid sports fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Chester L. Haynes Jr. and wife Holly of Mount Airy, Sharon R. Woodby of Detour, and Lisa J. Haynes of Rockville; two grandchildren, Rodney C. Haynes and Haley A. Haynes, both of Mount Airy; one sister, Naomi Butler of Lake of the Woods, Va.; and two brothers, Clay E. Haynes and Dorsel Haynes, both of Sandyville.

Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Haynes; and one sister, Georgia Erickson.

Friends may call at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Thurmont, from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wallace A. Lusk of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren officiating.

Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
