David C. Foster

David Calvin Foster, 85, of Germantown, MD passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Louise Bodmer Foster. Surviving are his three daughters, Julie Martorana and husband Michael of Brunswick, MD, Carol Spicer and husband Robert (deceased) of Summerville, SC, and Cathy Foster of Romney. WV. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jessica Kling and husband Michael of Summerville, SC and Bobby Spicer and fiancee Emma Del Ray of North Charleston, SC and two great grandchildren, Camden and Ruby Kling.

David was born on December 21, 1935 in Shenandoah Valley, VA but lived most of his life in Montgomery county, MD. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Pearl Foster and two brothers; Cecil Foster and wife Louise (surviving) of Ranson, WV, and Delmas Foster and wife Bonnie (surviving) of Damascus, MD. Surviving is his eldest brother Joe Foster and wife Loretta of Gaithersburg, MD.

He was retired from Montgomery County Government where he worked for 30 years as a surveyor. David also worked many years part-time for Safeway grocery store. After retirement he kept busy doing handyman work for several local homeowners. David enjoyed hunting and fishing. As an avid deer hunter, he would hunt each season in as many as four different states.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Maria Zambrano, of Visiting Angels, for being more than a caregiver, as David considered her his friend.
