Deborah Cline Obituary

Deborah Cline, 73, of Jefferson, MD passed from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024 while admitted at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Born on April 21, 1951, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Baker and Dorothy Virginia (Schultz) Baker.

Deborah was a 1969 graduate of Frederick High School and was a long time member of the AMVETS. In addition to serving as chairman on various committees for both American Legion Auxiliary Unit 11 and Western Maryland District, she held the office of President five times and most recently served as Treasurer for Unit 11 up until her passing.

Strong work ethic led Deborah to work full-time until her death, with the majority of her career as a Bookkeeper at National Geographic and most recently as a Report Coordinator at UnitedHealth Group. When she wasn't spending time with friends and family or serving the veteran community, she enjoyed puzzling, antique pottery collecting and cooking.

She is survived by her children, Dan Cline and Gwen Masser of Myersville; grandchildren Travis, Brad and Rachel Cline and Gavin and Avery Masser; and siblings John Wills Jr (Phyllis), Millie Plunkard (Joe) and Rodney Baker (Tammy).

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by her husband Howard Cline and siblings, Shirley Freed, Thomas Wills and Warren Baker.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, reserving 12:00-1:00 pm for family only. Additionally, an American Legion Auxiliary ceremony will begin at 2:30 pm.

A celebration of Deborah's life will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. Pastor R. Dallas Greene will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Myersville, MD.

Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 11 and mailed to 1450 Taney Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702.
