Dennis J. Oram

1949 - 2017

Dennis J. "Denny" Oram, 68, passed away Tues., March 28, 2017, at the Genesis Healthcare Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 28, 1949, in Frederick, MD, where he was a lifelong resident.

Denny graduated from Frederick High School where he excelled in sports, including baseball, football, and basketball. His athleticism and love for sports continued beyond high school playing on several area baseball and softball teams. He also played semi-pro football with the Frederick Falcons. He worked various construction and general laborer jobs throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving mother, Margaret E. Oram; three siblings, Debra (Oram) Overs, Steven Oram, and Dawn Oram; a devoted aunt, Ann Oram; uncle, Lawrence "Ted" Davis (Anne); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Lamont J. Oram; grandmother, Margaret E. Davis; uncles, William B. and Richard D. Oram and Howard E. and Charles R. Davis; and special cousin, Richard "Dickie" Oram.

A public viewing will be held on Thurs., April 6, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St., Frederick, MD. Services will be held on Fri., April 7, 2017, at Asbury UMC, 101 W. All Saints St., Frederick, MD, with a public viewing at 9:30 a.m., family hour at 10:00 a.m., and the funeral at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be shared at www.garylrollinsfuneralhome.com.
