DeSales Carter Obituary
He was the husband of Emma M. Carter, his wife of 33 years.
Born Feb. 13, 1940, in Washington, he was a son of DeSales A. Carter Sr. and Willie J. White Hardy.
Mr. Carter worked as a laundry presser, a carpenter, and most recently, for more than 15 years, as project manager for Nardi Construction Co.
Surviving are three sons, DeSales A. Carter III of Germantown, Michael A. Carter of Gaithersburg, and Christopher M. Carter of Seaside, Calif.; one daughter, Maria P. Smith of Gaithersburg; two grandchildren, Ashley N. Smith of Gaithersburg, and Corey A. Carter of Germantown; two daughters-in-law, Melanie Carter of Germantown, and Jessica Carter of Seaside; mother-in-law, Ruth R. Hackey of Germantown; four sisters; and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, 201 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg. The Rev. Kevin Kennedy will officiate.
Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
