Not sure what to say?

I met Don in 2004 when I traveled to Normandy with the 29th Infantry Division for the 60th anniversary of D-Day. He taught me a great deal about war. This June on the 75th anniversary of D-Day, I left flowers on the grave and Don and Lillian. I thanked this hero once again for helping to save our world.

Dear Sherrie and Donna,
I just heard of your Dad's passing. My heart breaks for you all. Your Dad was so kind and gentle. I remember playing in your backyard in the playhouse and your Dad always made a point of visiting with us while we played. He was a great Dad and friend! I know your memories will keep a smile on your face and happiness in your hearts. The loved you shared was obvious to all that knew you. That love will be with you for eternity.

Donald was an especially kind and generous neighbor. He was always there to share his experience, plow snow for an entire block, support a North Frederick community event, or place flags on the graves of the fallen heroes. Please accept our sincere condolences for Lillian and Donald's beloved children and grandchildren. We sure will miss his smile and wisdom!

Mrs. Null and family,

I am so sorry for your loss, I unfortunately just read about Mr. Null's passing today. What a shining example of a human being Mr. Null was---I will always cherish the many chats with him on the porch and miss him greatly. I also know Arella(my big black German Shepherd) will also miss his friendly greetings. May God comfort you all in this time of grief. May you also rejoice in the cherished memories of the great life led by His child Donald.......

Condolences to the Null family. Remembering Donald's smile and peaceful demeanor and the music. My husband's father, Lawrence was also a member of the bands they played in and often they drove together. Brings back many good memories. Donald was a good man. Peace and prayers to you all. I remember Mr. Null very well. He was especially kind to me when I was an 18-year-old Kid in 1961 living next door to the radiator shop. He put up with a lot from my brothers and me, always with a smile.

When I look at this handsome face, I see a strong and proud father and grandfather who raised two very special young ladies (who resemble him in so many ways!) And when I read about his accomplishments in the military and beyond, I can see where their determination was rooted. It was a honor to know you over the years Mr. Null. When children begin caring for their parents and pray over them, I believe our Lord gives them special favor by opening the gates of Heaven to them for eternal life. Sherrie and Donna my prayers and hugs are there for you and your families. Much love, Pam

I have the fondest memories of Uncle Donald. My grandmother and I would walk from their home on 8th street to downtown and sometimes stop by his shop. The windows were full of flowers and in the shop you could find a cat or two he was caring for which always made me happy. His caring nature and calming demeanor will always be things I remember when thinking of him. Praying for peace for you all!

Mr. Null helped me out with a radiator repair some 42 years ago. He was a big help to me way back then. I have shared that story with others over the years.

Rest in peace and God bless his family

When I think of Mr. Null, I think of my Dad, Gordan "Bud" Black. They were friends because of car repair. Both were the mechanics' mechanics. Peace and comfort to all of you.
