Donald Rippeon Obituary
Born on May 6, 1936 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lester Zacharias and Annie Mary Elizabeth (Crum) Rippeon. Donald served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1957. He was a member of the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post 11 and the AMVETS Post 9, Middletown. Mr. Rippeon worked for 28 years at Frederick Community College as a Project Manager in the Procurement System. He was a very skilled woodworker. There wasn't anything he couldn't do with a piece of wood and would help anyone that needed help with any project.
In addition to his wife Charlotte, Donald is survived by his son Scott Harrison Rippeon and wife Debra; daughter, Paige Michele Crawford; brother, Gene Austin Rippeon and wife Lois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester Rippeon, Grayson Rippeon, Murray Rippeon and James Rippeon and four sisters, Charlotte Simpson, Eleanor Hargett, Francis Wiles and Ada Jessee as well as son in law Bill Crawford
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 10-11 AM at Keeney & Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
