I just learned of the passing of Mr. Aiello, one of the finest teachers at Mount Hebron HS. Although it's been over 40 years, I fondly remember his Geometry class, where I learned all about SOH-CAH-TOA and the artful beauty of Math. Mr. Aiello was knowledgeable, organized and kind. I wish peace to his family as they cope with the loss of a wonderful man.

RIP Mr Aiello. You were an amazing teacher and you changed my life, introducing me to engineering. Thank you for helping me to love Math and make my days at Hebron better.

To the Aiello family:
Mr. Aiello was one of my favorite teachers over the years. He taught my Calculus class junior year at Mt. Hebron and he was one of the kindest and most patient teachers I ever worked with. Students only had kind things to say about him and his classroom was always welcoming.
I'm a middle school teacher at Patapsco Middle now, teaching music and choir. Just a couple weeks before his passing, I drove into the parking lot at Mt. Hebron to direct the choirs in their Winter Concert. I don't know why, but driving into the lot I was thinking about Mr. Aiello (from 22 years ago?) and remembering that when I was in school he actually took the time to call every student's parents every quarter on the phone to update them on their progress. My dad, who was a math teacher himself, still talks about these calls now and then, and because of that, "Mr. Aiello" is a name our whole family recognizes. So I was driving through the MHHS parking lot thinking about how many students I teach and couldn't fathom in any way how he ever got all that done. What an amazing person!
To Mr. Aiello's family, I am so sorry for this great loss. It sounds like he did a wonderful job living his retirement years to the fullest, though, and I will try to learn from that, too!
With much love and appreciation,

Frank came to Tennessee a couple of weeks before my Anna passed away. She cried tears of joy. I can never thank Frank and Kathi enough for his coming.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Frank's family. What a tremendous loss his passing is for us all.
I served as a Howard County Math Department Head with Frank for many years. Frank was always there to help in any way that he was needed. Often at the beginning of the school year, there would be phone calls between schools requesting to borrow math books to accommodate last minute enrollment changes. Frank would not just loan us books, but he was kind enough to even deliver them!
Frank was alway thoughtful and kind and supportive. When Howard County teachers introduced AP Statistics for the first time, Frank worked hard to make sure that students were prepared for the test and that we teachers were doing everything we could to make the new course a success. He even offered an AP Stat Test Prep course in the evening over a course of a number of weeks to help students prepare for the exam.
Frank was a great guy and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

Frank Aiello was one of the greatest teachers and finest men with whom I have had the privilege to work. As an educator, he left a legacy of thousands of young people whose lives were made far better intellectually and spiritually if not for him and his work.
Bless you, Frank, as a man, an educator, a father, a grandfather, as a mentor, and as a friend.

I am so sad to hear about Mr. Aiello's passing. There aren't too many math teachers I remember from grade school but Mr. Aiello is definitely one who made a difference. This is how you know he was something special. How many students can say their favorite subject in school was calculus? He will truly be missed. My deepest condolences to his family.

I'm very saddened to hear of Mr. Aiello's passing. He was not only a great math teacher, but also a wonderful person. (I have to smile to think how I ended up loving math and using it as the basis for many of my music compositions as well as all throughout my music degrees - all the way to audio engineering school.)

Will miss this fellowship.

Frank was a kind, loving, and gentle man. His friendship was cherished beyond description and he will be sorely missed by me and the people that had the pleasure of knowing him. I will miss the 3 or 4 phone calls a week we had. The calls always contained laughter, ribbing, the names Kathi, Linda, Delilah, and recently Oda. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Kathy, the world has lost a beautiful soul and no one knows that more than you, of course. I'm so glad to have known Frank and wish with all my heart you'd had more time with him. 54 years of marriage is a long time but not long enough for two people who shared a wonderful life and a beautiful love story. I know he was a beloved friend, neighbor, teacher and he had, along with you, the generous gift of hospitality. You've shared your beautiful home so many times with your friends and the love and laughter shared there will be a treasured memory for all. Thinking of you, praying for you, and sending you and Delilah much love.

My heart aches for the loss of this very special man. I have had the pleasure of knowing Frank for a long time. The world has lost a one of a kind man whose wealth of knowledge, kindness, sense of humor, love for nature and the outdoors will truly be missed. I've seen first hand the mark Frank has left on so many young peoples lives whom he taught, educator extraordinaire. His love of teaching was infectious in all aspects of life. I will miss that ever smiling face and that big teddy bear quality that he possessed. Knowing you were doing what you so loved to do at the time of your passing, makes this loss a tiny bit easier to
bare but your absence will be profound.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Aiello for 2 classes at Mt. Hebron. I loathed math, but Mr. Aiello made it bearable. I was barely making the grade in his class until he had a one on one conversation with me telling me he knew I could do better. What he taught me during that conversation stuck with me in more than just high school classes, but in my life in general. I looked forward to his classes, his whit and his smile. He really was one of the best and he had more of an impact in my life than he would have ever known!

It's great to have a chance to remain friends with High School buddies, long after leaving school. Frank never lost his youthful charm. He left a great imprint as a Math department teacher and director, as a football coach and mentor, and as a great contributor to the Woodsboro community. My wife and I look forward to visiting often with Kathi and keeping Frank's spirit alive.

I only met Frank once while visiting with my friend Nora Hemphill, we took a trip with Nora's granddaughters. Frank was so nice, kind, patient ( with 2 grandmas and 2 teenagers) he was very informative on the civil war events, he was so kind to take us to Washington D C. while we toured the capital, and he took us to see the White House. Frank also invited us to his beautiful home to meet his lovely wife. Truly a man with a kind heart, I shall never forget his kindness to make our trip educational and fun. Thank you Frank for our good memories !! You will be missed and remembered fondly.
