Franklin Burrier Obituary

Franklin David Burrier, age 89, of Unionville died Friday, October 10, 2025 at a private care home in Mt. Airy. Born January 20, 1936 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Murray Burrier and Lerah Stull Burrier. He was the husband of Rosaline "Rosie" Burrier, his wife of 68 years.

Frank was a 1954 graduate of Frederick High School. His working years were devoted to being a dairy farmer and he was also employed for 20 years with Southern States of Frederick. He was a lifelong member of Linganore United Methodist Church, enjoyed singing in the choir and served on the Linganore Cemetery Board. Frank was a member of the Linganore Grange # 410, #39 International Harvester Tractor Club, Frederick County Farm Bureau and the Capitol Milk Producers. He was a tuba player for numerous community bands, a 4-H leader with the Unionville Junior Boys and loved sharing garden produce with the community.

In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Patricia "Patsy" Ensminger and husband Jeffrey of Boonsboro, Murray F. Burrier and wife Sherri of Prairie Grove, AR, Peggy Flickinger and husband Gordon of Libertytown and Debra O'Connell and husband Adam of Brooksville, FL; 9 grandchildren, Halona, Jason, Jennifer, Justin, Katie, Kayla, Lydon, Megan and Trevor; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Arbaugh of near Linwood, Mary Ann Albaugh of Westminster; brothers, John Burrier of Middletown, Kenneth "Joe" Burrier and wife Reba of Unionville and Fred Burrier of Frederick and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by daughter-in-law Beth Novosat-Burrier. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy R. Burrier and a sister, Verna Heffner.

There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Community Foundation of Frederick County (check made out to this name with the following on the memo line - Sperry L. Storm Memorial Scholarship Fund) and sent to 312 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701.

I have fond memories of butchering at Frank and Rosie's as young person. These usually happen on Thanksgiving if memory serves me right. I remember when the kids were born. I have many many wonderful memories.
