Gretchen Wilson Obituary

Mrs. Gretchen E. Heiss Wilson, 58, of Walkersville, died Friday, March 22, in Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was the wife of Carl H. Wilson, her husband of 30 years.

Born Nov. 23, 1943, in Altoona, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Dolores Burgoon Heiss.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, Walkersville.

She was employed as a production supervisor for the Jeanne Bussard Center, Frederick, and was formerly with Gilberts Opticians, Frederick.

Mrs. Wilson enjoyed a variety of sports and was an avid golfer. A softball player in her younger years, she was a pitcher for the Altoona All Stars. She liked shopping at the outlets and malls.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sisters, Mary Jeannine Yeager and husband Joseph of Towson, Carol Dascher and husband Dr. John Dascher of Blue Bell, Pa., and Sue Pendergast of Altoona; 13 nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Heiss.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville.

Interment will be held Wednesday, March 27, in Altoona Fairview Cemetery, Altoona.

Memorial contributions may be made to "Family House McKee," 233 McKee Place, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213.

Arrangements are being handled by Stauffer Funeral Home, Walkersville.
