Hilda Knott Obituary

Hilda N. Knott, 71, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of the late Woodrow "Booty" Hungerford.

Born Aug. 5, 1937, in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Bud Brewer and Daisy Jacobs, and stepdaughter of the late Elmer Jacobs. Hilda attended Sherwood High School in Montgomery County, and worked as a home health care provider for the Frederick County Dept. of Social Services. She also worked at The Great Frederick Fair every year for 11 years. Her family is grateful for God's gift of Hilda for all the years they had her.

She is survived by five children, Thomas Hungerford and wife, Patty, Evelyn Horner and husband, Ronnie, William Hungerford and wife, Linda, Patricia Nocholson and husband, Edgar, and Mark Ricketts and wife, Crystal; a brother, Elmer Jacobs Jr. and wife, Jeannie; a half-sister, Virginia; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Hungerford Salvermoser; a sister, Mary Stull; and a brother-in-law, Sherman Stull.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. 15N in Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home. The Rev. Janet I. Comings will officiate.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Floral tributes are welcome.

Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody, P.A., Frederick.
