Ida Werner Obituary
Born June 25,1940 in Philomont, VA, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle Lee Haws. She and her family later moved to Brunswick, MD where she graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1958. In high school, she was active in basketball, softball, volleyball, hockey, and fieldball.
After high school, she worked at Airpax, later Philips Technologies. She was close with many co-workers and looked forward to walking across the street at lunchtime with friends to The Great Frederick Fair each September.
In her younger years, bowling was a favorite past time. Later, she enjoyed playing bingo and listening to karaoke, especially Patsy Cline songs. She loved to host a summer cookout in her yard and attend the County's carnivals. Her joy in her later years was to help raise and watch her great-grandchildren grow.
She is survived by her husband, Max, Sr.; daughter, Michelle Werner; granddaughter, Kari McDaniel; and great-grandchildren, Tracy, Farrin, and Eden; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A special mention of two of her nieces, Jennifer Kolb and Jo Ann Hoffman, who helped tremendously through her latter years.
In addition to her mother, Myrtle, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Bettie, and Hazel; along with several extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home 1100 N Maple Ave, Brunswick, MD 21716 with Rev. Tim May officiating. Burial will be held immediately following the visitation at Lakeview Cemetery, 125 N. Laycock St. Hamilton, VA 20158.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Brunswick High School Athletic Boosters or Hospice of Frederick County in her memory. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com. Ida Werner
