Jack Brown

1954 - 2025

Jack Sunville Brown, age 70, of Boonsboro, died Monday, September 8, 2025 after an extended illness with his family by his side. Born November 27, 1954 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late George W. Brown and Mildred Wiles Brown. He was the husband of Roxanne M. Brown, his wife of 37 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jason and Jared Brown of Boonsboro, brothers, Ron Brown and wife Glenda of Frederick and Tony Brown Sr. and wife Robin of Damascus and numerous nieces and nephews. Hs was predeceased by his brother, Jim Brown.

Jack served in the 101st U.S. Army Airborne and Special Forces. He was a master certified mechanic, working for numerous Ford dealerships over the years. He was a truck driver for DOT Foods and served as Transportation Supervisor for the City of Frederick. After retirement he opened 2nd Generation Firearms in Boonsboro, was a gunsmith and NRA Certified Instructor.

Jack was a member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church and the Izaak Walton League. In earlier years he was a Cub and Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed camping, especially out west, was an avid shooter, including competition, loved animals and could fix anything. He was known as an extremely hard worker and for his selfless generosity.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20 at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church with his brother, Pastor Ron Brown, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Hill Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service at the church.
