Jane Harp Obituary

Miss Jane E. Harp, 69, of Union City, Ga., formerly of Middletown, died Sunday, Sept. 9, at South Fulton Hospital Center.

Born Sept. 28, 1931, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Dr. J. Elmer and Edna Harp.

She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta and was an active member and librarian of the chancel choir for many years.

She was a graduate of Greenbriar College, Lewisberg, W.Va. and Hood College and received her M.S. degree from Westchester State College.

She taught music in the Baltimore area prior to coming to Headland High School in East Point from 1972 to 1978. Later she taught at College Park Elementary, Hapeville Elementary and Parklane Elementary schools.

She is survived by one cousin, Howard Muhly of Fredericksburg, Va.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until services begin at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, will officiate.

Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dr. J. Elmer Harp Medical Center, Middletown, Md. 21769.

Best days of my life being taught by Miss Harp and I´ll miss her forever . Mergenthaler Voc Tech HS Baltimore MD had the best Choir while under the direction of Miss Jane Harp . So many memories , she was my cheerleader and I hers . I will always cherish the letter she sent me near the end of her life . Go Mustangs
