Joan Roark Obituary

Mrs. Joan B. Roark, of Wheaton, formerly of Cabin John, died Friday, Feb. 7.

She was the wife of John Roark, her husband of 38 years.

She was the daughter of the late William and A. Margaret Shuff.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Lynda Parks and husband Raymond Glenn of Olney, and Debra Fry and husband David Chase of Rockville; one son, Michael Roark and wife Nicki of Cabin John; three grandchildren, Raven and Sean Roark, and Jennifer Clark; one great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Elizabeth Clark; and five nephews, Paul Roark and Ricky Roark, both of Frederick, Scott Roark of New Market, Kevin Roark of Mount Airy, and Matthew Roark of West Virginia.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., Rockville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, 13266 Taylorstown Road, Leesburg, Va.,

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1211 Connecticut Ave., N.W., Suite 501, Washington, D.C. 20036.
