John Burchardt Obituary
Born on March 17, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Otto and Dorothy Burchardt. John retired from 20 years of service with the Defense Mapping Agency. He also retired from the Army Reserves after serving for 22 years. He was a former member of the Cresap Rifle Club and the Monocacy Pistol Club. He also taught hunter safety through the IWLA.
In addition to his loving wife Marta, he is survived by his brother Douglas Burchardt and sister Diane Price, both of North Carolina. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Dan Houck and wife Helen; sister-in-law, Carole Houck; brother-in-law, Robert Houck and wife Ginny; brother-in-law, William Houck; sister-in-law, Norlene Zanganah and husband Sudad; brother-in-law, Rick Houck and wife Tina; and many nieces and nephews. John is also remembered by special friends, John and Marlyn Turner, Allan and Becky Turner, Bruce and Denise DeGrange, and Maria Colliflower.
A celebration of life gathering will take place at noon on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Faith United Church of Christ, 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Church of Christ at the above address.
